While sideloader experience is highly desirable, it is not essential.
If you're an experienced HC driver with the right attitude and a strong safety focus, we'll provide training and support to help you develop your sideloader skills.For drivers who prove themselves, we'll also fund your MC licence upgrade.About the RoleThis is a hands-on transport role operating throughout Townsville and surrounding areas.
No two days are the same, with a mix of container, freight and customer deliveries.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate HC prime movers and associated equipment, including sideloaders (training provided if required)Load, transport and unload containers and freight safely and efficientlyComplete client deliveries to designated locationsConduct pre-start inspections, vehicle checks and load restraint inspectionsSecure loads in accordance with Chain of Responsibility and Load Restraint Guide requirementsComplete all required paperwork and electronic documentation accurately and on timeMaintain the condition and presentation of vehicles and equipment under your careComply with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), fatigue management,



vehicle permits, axle weight requirements and company policiesFollow NSS Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures at all timesWork effectively both independently and as part of a small teamAbout YouCurrent Heavy Combination (HC) Driver Licence (essential)Safe driving history and solid commitment to workplace safetyGood understanding of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and load restraint requirementsAbility to work in a physically demanding role, including manual handling, load restraint activities and climbing in and out of vehicles throughout the dayFlexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and the ability to work well within a teamAbility to work autonomously and take ownership of your workSideloader operating experience or competency (training available for suitable HC drivers)MC Driver LicenceDangerous Goods (DG) LicenceExperience with container transport and bulk freight operationsSuccessful applicants will be required to provide a driver licence history report, complete a pre-employment functional medical and participate in regular drug and alcohol testing.Why Join NSS?
