Play a key role in shaping our performance across our InfraBuild Recycling business.We are seeking an experienced Fitter to join our dynamic team in Hexham, supporting our operations in steel recycling.
In this hands‐on role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical systems critical to steel recycling and heavy industrial operations.
You'll work with large‐scale equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics and processing equipment, ensuring reliability, safety, and effectiveness across our site.What you will be doing:Perform fault‐finding, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy industrial equipmentDiagnose mechanical failures and implement engineering solutions to maximise uptime and efficiencyCarry out installation testing, and commissioning of new equipment within the recycling yardConduct routine servicing, overhauls, and refurbishments of steel and processing plant and equipmentRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to complete fabrication and assembly tasksEnsure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with InfraBuild standardsHours suited to work/life balance – 4pm to 12am Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 11pm on a FridayPay rate - $***** per hour + tool allowance + 15% afternoon shift allowance + 12% super + overtime with potential to grow your income as you build experience with us!
