YMCA Caloundra are recruiting an enthusiastic and committed Gymnastics Competitive Leader on a Permanent Part-Time basis to join our team located in CaloundraAbout the roleAs a Gymnastics Competitive Leader with the Y, you will be responsible for developing and coordinating the Centre's Competition Gymnastics program and classes as well as supervising and supporting a small team of Competition Gym coaches.
The position will also coach gymnastics classes and complete administrative tasks as requiredWhat will my time look like?
Implement and maintain innovative and quality gymnastics programs that meet the requirements of Gymnastics Queensland Club 10 and align with the YMCA mission statementUndertake the assessment of new gymnasts and assist with advising gymnasts in relation to their progression including recommendations regarding change of classes and levelsAssist the Gymnastics Co-ordinator with staff coordination tasks as required including but not limited to; staff roster and checking coaches' availability, fill or find fills for classesTeach competitive gymnastics using suitable progressions and lesson plans in accordance with the YMCA's Mission statement and the requirements of Gymnastics AustraliaMaintain the work environment to minimise risk to both customers and staffReport identifiable risk so that immediate action can be takenAm I a good match?
Accreditation with Gymnastics Australia minimum intermediate (working towards advanced) coaching qualifications or industry equivalent with relevant experience or an equivalent level of qualifications, training and/or experienceKnowledge and practical experience in all aspects of gymnastics, including demonstrated programming experienceAble to commit to having a Competition Team/hours and attending Competitions on the weekends during Comp SeasonExcellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent planning,
prioritisation and organisational skillsSound knowledge of computer systems including the Microsoft Office suite of programsAbility to build rapport with customers and other stakeholdersAbility to work both autonomously and as part of a teamAbility to write all the lesson plans for the other Comp CoachesDemonstrated results orientation, sound judgement and problem-solving skillsSound knowledge of local and international gymnastics development trendsCurrent First Aid and CPR CertificatesPositive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtainBe working towards your Beginners Gymnastics Accreditation or be willing to undertake your accreditation through the YWhat's in it for you?
