About the Role
The Junior Equities Dealer will support the execution, management, and optimisation of equity trading activity across client portfolios, supporting investment outcomes through market insight, liquidity intelligence, trade idea generation and continuous process improvement.
The role will support business development and revenue generation by delivering transaction revenues in line with budget expectations.
This includes assisting with investment ideas, providing timely market colour, flow insights, and actionable trade ideas that reflect prevailing market conditions and client positioning.
The dealer will build and maintain strong relationships with advisers, model managers, and sell‐side counterparties, while collaborating with internal and external investment teams on portfolio construction and idea generation to support end‐client investment performance.
The role will also provide high‐quality support to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring efficient execution services and responsiveness to client and business needs.
The equities dealer will maintain compliance with all internal and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring accurate record‐keeping across orders, executions, and client interactions.
In addition, the role will contribute to platform development through engagement with distribution, technology, product teams, support ongoing training and development initiatives for both internal staff and external users.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trade Execution & Order Management
Execute domestic and international equities, derivatives and FX across markets, ensuring timely, accurate delivery aligned to best execution standards.
Manage order flow, liquidity and risk, including day‐to‐day order book responsibilities and rotating global coverage.
2. Business Development & Client Engagement
Assist with preparing and communicating market insights, trade ideas and timely commentary to support client outcomes and revenue generation.
Build and maintain relationships with advisers, model managers and broker counterparties, and support client engagement activities.
3. Research & Market Insights
Assist with preparing and communicating actionable research, analytics and market commentary, including investment ideas and performance insights.
Contribute to investment materials, client communications and broader strategy discussions.
4. Operational Support & Platform Development
Deliver high‐quality execution support, maintain accurate records and support internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate across distribution, product and technology teams, including training and platform initiatives.
5. Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure all activity adheres to regulatory and internal requirements, with strong controls and governance standards.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and client outcomes, and contribute to investment communications and reporting.
6. Investment Communications
Assist with the preparation of Investment Committee materials, House View documents, investment reports and adviser‐facing communications.
Support the development of market commentary, investment updates and presentation materials, helping to communicate investment insights clearly and effectively to clients and advisers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field (required).
RG146 (or willingness to obtain).
Required Experience
Approximately 3–6 years of relevant investment experience.
Experience in equity markets, trade execution, and client engagement.
Strong competency with tools such as IRESS, Bloomberg, Broadridge or similar investment analytics trading and OMS platforms.
