The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 900 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.About the RoleDue to an internal development opportunity, our Townsville Plant is currently recruiting a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and Return to Work (RTW) Advisor to join the team in a full-time capacity.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the WHS & RTW Advisor will work closely with our management team and play a vital role in the successful operation of our processing plant.Your key responsibilities will include:Promoting and influencing a positive safety cultureLiaising with stakeholders regarding WHS and IMC,
maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement and best practiceEnsuring secure systems of work are followed in accordance with Company Policies and ProceduresUtilising the WHS Safety Management System Matrix to plan and review complianceFacilitating consultation activities for the site including toolbox talks, safety observations, consultative committee meetingsConducting incident investigations and safety reportsConducting WHS audits, inspections identifying risks and hazardsCarrying out associated administrative tasks, statistics and reportingProviding workplace rehabilitation assistance to employees in accordance with legislative and Company policiesOverseeing the onsite injury management early intervention clinicOverseeing effective operation of the site first aid officeConsulting with the Workers Compensation department regarding injury management processes and claims progressionAbout YouMust have previous WHS and IMC experienceMust have Cert IV Work Health and Safety or higherMust have Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination (or equivalent) vocational competenciesMust have completed Fire Safety Advisor training or willing to obtainWorking knowledge of WHS Act ****, regulations, Code of Practice and Australian StandardsSound working knowledge of QLD Workplace Rehabilitation LegislationExposure to a large self-insurance organisation advantageousEffective negotiation and conflict resolution skillsStrong organisational, time management and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to work within a team environmentMust have current Australian work rightsWhy work for JBS Australia?
