This is a full-time position based in Norwest, NSW ****.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and a vital member of our administrative team.
You will play a key role in ensuring our practice operates smoothly whilst delivering exceptional patient care and support to our surgical specialists and medical staff.Key responsibilitiesGreeting patients in a warm and professional manner and managing patient arrivals and departuresScheduling and confirming patient appointments using practice management systemsManaging patient records and ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete and properly filedHandling patient enquiries and directing them to the appropriate staff memberProcessing patient payments and managing billing procedures as well as medicare and insurance claims.Answering telephone calls and responding to patient communications promptly and courteouslyPreparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are clean, organised and stocked with necessary suppliesAssisting with patient registration and intake proceduresMaintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy legislation and practice protocolsSupporting the medical team with administrative tasks as requiredCoordinating referrals and specialist communicationsWhat we're looking forHigh school certificate or equivalent qualificationProven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative roleMinimum of 2+ years experience as a medical receptionist or in healthcare administrationExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong organisational and time management abilitiesProficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applicationsProfessional telephone manner and customer service skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy environmentUnderstanding of patient confidentiality and medical privacy legislationFriendly, empathetic and patient-focused approachReliability and commitment to punctualityA valid Australian driver's licence is preferredKnowledge of medical terminology is a must.What we offerWorking at Surgical Specialist, you will be part of a professional and supportive healthcare team dedicated to providing excellent patient care.
