As a Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services to our valued customers.
You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all work meets our exacting standards of safety and excellence.
This position offers the opportunity to work with modern diagnostic equipment and a diverse range of vehicles whilst contributing to the success of a trusted automotive service provider.Key responsibilitiesDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment and testing proceduresPerform routine and complex vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake servicingRepair and replace mechanical components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systemsConduct pre-delivery inspections and quality assurance checks on completed workMaintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labour hours for each serviceFollow health and safety protocols and ensure workshop cleanliness and organisationCommunicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition, repair requirements, and cost estimatesWork collaboratively with other team members to meet customer deadlines and service schedulesKeep up to date with manufacturer service bulletins, recalls,



and technical updatesWhat we're looking forA recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating competency in vehicle repair and maintenanceProven experience as a Mechanic in a skilled automotive service environmentStrong diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issuesProficiency with diagnostic tools and computer-based vehicle systemsKnowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in automotive workshopsExcellent manual dexterity and attention to detailStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCurrent driving licence is essentialA valid RSA (Roadworthy Safety Assessment) certificate or willingness to obtain oneAbout usAdvanced Automotive Services is a trusted automotive repair and maintenance provider serving the Cairns community.
