Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team.This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving production equipment across our manufacturing operations to maximise plant reliability, safety and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for but not limited to:Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on production equipmentDiagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtimeAssemble, install, test and maintain machinery, equipment and componentsModify machine parts and equipment as requiredConduct inspections to identify wear, defects and potential hazardsWork with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsComplete maintenance records accurately and on time through maintenance systemsAssist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliabilityEnsure all work is completed in accordance with HACCP, GMP and WHS requirementsMaintain a safe,
clean and organised work environmentCollaborate with production and maintenance teams to achieve operational targetsQualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:Trade qualifications as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter or equivalentMinimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance or mechanical fitting roleStrong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilityExperience with preventative maintenance programsKnowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics and hydraulicsBasic welding skills (TIG and MIG preferred)Machining experience using lathes and milling machines highly regardedFMCG, food manufacturing, packaging or processing industry experience advantageousStrong commitment to workplace safety and quality standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication skills and attention to detailStable, growing Australian FMCG manufacturerOpportunity to work on a diverse range of food manufacturing equipmentSupportive team environmentOngoing training and development opportunitiesGenerous staff discount across all product rangesAccess to our EAP for confidential counselling and supportTired of the same repetitive maintenance work?
