We believe our interactions with our guests and each other are opportunities to promote and proclaim the gospel.About the roleNo split shifts – (38 hour week)Tools providedLarge variety of tasksSupportive teamYour responsibilitiesGrounds and Outdoor MaintenanceResponsible for the presentation, upkeep, and general maintenance of all outdoor areas across Youthworks Shoalhaven under the direction of the Maintenance CoordinatorOperate and maintain outdoor equipment including ride-on mowers, push mowers, edgers, blowers, and other groundskeeping tools safely and effectivelyMow lawns, edge pathways, prune gardens, maintain hedges, undertake bush care, and complete general gardening duties across the siteCarry out regular weeding, leaf blowing, rubbish collection, and outdoor cleaning to ensure grounds remain safe, tidy, and well presentedMonitor outdoor areas for hazards, damage, or maintenance needs and report issues promptlyAssist with maintaining outdoor equipment, storage areas, and workshops in a clean, organised, and safe conditionMaintenance SupportAssist the maintenance team with general repairs, upkeep, and maintenance tasks across cabins, accommodation facilities, amenities, and common areas as requiredRespond to maintenance requests and assist with minor repairs, painting, refurbishment work, and manual handling tasksEnsure all tools and equipment are used safely and any faults or hazards are reported promptlyMaintain a professional and positive approach while interacting with guests, staff, contractors, volunteers, and visitorsPeopleProvide guidance and mentoring to casuals,



volunteers and other staff assisting with out-door maintenance and grounds tasksEncourage protected work practices, teamwork, and positive participation while workingSystems and SafetyAdhere to workplace health and safety procedures and safe manual handling practices at all timesMaintain relevant maintenance records and report hazards, incidents, and operational is-sues promptlySupport and recommend improvements to the maintenance coordinatorYou will need to demonstrateA passion for the outdoorsExcellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and to be flexible to reflect changes in priorityA systematic and focused approach to tasks with a strong attention to detailAn ability to work with a wide range of staff to achieve effective outcomesStrong work ethosStrong customer focusGood personal presentationWillingness to work in an overtly Christian environment and within an Anglican organisationCommitment to work with Youthworks missionVerified and Cleared Working with Children Check number for paid employmentWhat we would really like you to havePersonal Christian faithExperience working in landscaping, gardening, greenkeeping or bush care.WorkSafe NSW LicensesQualifications related to horticulture or green keepingProven knowledge of Industry and Safety StandardsFirst aid qualificationsAdditional informationCurrent drivers license and own transport is essential as there is no public transport anywhere near Port Hacking Conference Centres.Youthworks is committed to participating in the NSW Working with Children Checksprogram, and successful applicants must have a valid Working with Children Check ID number for paid employment before an offer of employment can be made.
