Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll become a trusted adviser and member of the leadership team, working alongside a group of experienced professionals.This is a business with a professional culture that values collaboration and works from their centrally located CBD-based office five days a week.The RoleAs Head of Finance, you will lead all aspects of the finance function while managing a small accounting team of 3 staff.
This is a broad, hands-on and commercial position that combines leadership with operational finance responsibility.Your responsibilities will include:Leading the finance function, including financial reporting, compliance, audit, tax and treasuryProviding commercial advice and partnering with the CEO to support decision-makingPreparing annual budgets, forecasting cash flow and overseeing project budgets across multiple developmentsDelivering financial analysis,



feasibility modelling and performance reporting to support investment decisionsManaging group reporting, statutory compliance and taxation obligationsBuilding strong relationships with banks, external advisers and other key stakeholdersMonitoring project performance, cost control and business profitabilityDriving continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting and business processesLeading, mentoring and developing a small finance teamYour BackgroundTo be considered for this Head of Finance role, you will ideally meet the following criteria:A hands-on approach with the willingness and familiarity of 'rolling up your sleeves', combined with the ability to operate effectively in a growing organisationProfessionally qualified (e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)Proven experience leading a small finance teamProperty development industry experience is a pre-requisite with familiarity of the aforementioned tasksStrong technical accounting, financial reporting and taxation knowledgeExperience with project budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial feasibility analysisA commercial mindset with the ability to influence decision-makingConfidence to build relationships across the business and with external partnersThose working in other aligned, similar lead finance roles are encouraged to apply (i.e. CFO, Finance Director or an experienced Financial Controller ready to step up)Willingness to work in the office 5 days a week in the CBD
