This role ensures all steelwork is detailed accurately for fabrication and erection.The position requires strict adherence to Australian Standards and project specifications.
The successful candidate will bridge the gap between structural design and practical fabrication.Duties and ResponsibilitiesGenerate detailed fabrication drawings, erection plans, and assembly drawings.Produce accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, and bolt lists for procurement.Identify and resolve design clashes before fabrication commences.Draft and submit Requests for Information (RFIs)



to engineers or architects to resolve design discrepancies.Liaise with the workshop to resolve fabrication queries and optimize detailing for manufacturing efficiency.Work with site supervisors to ensure erection plans are clear and practical.Ensure all detailing complies with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.Update models and drawings promptly to reflect design changes and site variations.Maintain accurate records of drawing issues, revisions, and transmittals.Self-check all drawings for dimensional accuracy and completeness prior to formal review.Essential SkillsComprehensive knowledge of AS **** (Steel structures), AS/NZS **** (Structural steel welding), and AS **** (Structural steelwork fabrication and erection).
