Dental Assistant - No Experince Required

A well-established general dental practice in Guildford is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join the team in a full-time role (five days per week) across chairside assisting, sterilisation, and reception.
No prior dental experience is required — just the right attitude, robust work ethic, and willingness to learn.
This role is ideal for a recent school leaver or someone seeking a career change who is interested in building long-term skills in a clinical healthcare environment.
About the role
The successful applicant will support the day-to-day operation of the practice, including:
Chairside dental assisting in a general dentistry setting
Instrument cleaning and sterilisation
Patient communication and appointment coordination
General support of the clinical and administrative team
This is not a reception-only role.
The successful applicant must be comfortable working in the surgery.
Training and support
Full on-the-job training provided — no experience required
Training will commence primarily in the clinical and sterilisation areas, ensuring a strong foundation in infection control and clinical workflows
Reception duties will be introduced progressively once confidence and proficiency in the clinical setting are demonstrated
Ongoing mentoring and support throughout the training period
About the person
The practice is looking for someone who:
Is reliable, resilient, and keen to learn




Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is comfortable working in a clinical environment
Is willing and able to work until 7:00 pm on rostered days
Maintains high standards of personal hygiene and professional presentation, recognising their importance to patient comfort, safety, and infection control
Works well as part of a supportive and professional team
Must hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship to be eligible for this role
Candidates must hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship before applying, as temporary visa holders are not eligible for this position
Remuneration
Award wages apply during the training period, with progression aligned to skills, experience, and demonstrated capability.
