$100,000 - $110,000 a yearPermanentHybridA progressive Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking an experienced Manager Wellbeing & Early Education to lead a diverse portfolio of community wellbeing, early childhood and social support programs.Based in Cairns, this unique FIFO opportunity offers the best of both worlds.
You'll work one week from a dedicated Cairns office followed by one week in community, with all approved travel, accommodation and office facilities provided.
This arrangement is expected to continue for approximately six months while additional staff housing is completed.Reporting to the Executive Manager Community Services, you will provide leadership across a range of community programs while building strong relationships with staff, service providers and community stakeholders to improve wellbeing outcomes.What's On Offer$100K – $110K base salary + superannuationCairns-based FIFOTax-free FIFO travel allowanceAll approved travel to and from community providedAccommodation provided whilst working in communityDedicated office facilities in both Cairns and the communitySupportive leadership team with genuine opportunity to make a community impactAbout the RoleYou will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio delivering community wellbeing and early education initiatives that support positive social outcomes.Key responsibilities include:Leading a diverse portfolio including women's wellbeing, aged care, men's programs,
playgroup and early education initiativesSupporting continuous improvement across community programs and service deliveryManaging staff performance, mentoring and team developmentDeveloping operational plans, budgets and performance reportingBuilding solid partnerships with government agencies, health providers and community organisationsMonitoring program performance, funding agreements and compliance requirementsSupporting grant opportunities and service development initiativesPromoting culturally appropriate and community-led service deliveryEnsuring services operate safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and quality standardsAbout YouYou are a compassionate and capable leader who enjoys developing teams and delivering programs that make a genuine difference within regional and remote communities.You will bring:Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Management or a relatedDemonstrated leadership experience within community, health, wellbeing or early childhoodStrong people management and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience managing programs, budgets and reporting requirementsExcellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilitiesUnderstanding of culturally appropriate service delivery and community engagementCurrent Driver Licence, Blue Card, First Aid Certificate and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
