This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for a qualified tradesperson with solid experience in commercial and/or construction painting.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare worksites by erecting scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets to protect surrounding areasExamine surfaces to assess the type and extent of preparation and painting requiredPrepare walls and other surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks,



and smoothing and sealing surfacesSelect, mix, and prepare paints, varnishes, and stains to required colours and specificationsApply paints, varnishes, and stains using brushes, rollers, and spray equipmentHang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges accuratelyFollow drawings, plans, and work instructions to deliver high-quality finishesCalculate material requirements and assist with cost estimatesClean tools, equipment, and work areas after completion of tasksComply with all workplace health and safety requirements at all timesSkills and Experience RequiredCertificate III or IV in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent)Minimum 2 years' relevant full-time work experience as a Painter and DecoratorCurrent White CardProven experience in commercial and/or construction paintingStrong knowledge of painting materials and application techniquesAbility to competently use painting tools and equipment (e.g. brushes, rollers, spray guns, caulking guns)Valuable basic numeracy skills for measurements and material calculationsPhysical fitness, manual dexterity, and ability to work safely on ladders and scaffoldingHigh attention to detail and a strong work ethic
