About the Role
We are hiring a Kids STEM Teacher to deliver hands‑on Arduino, coding, electronics and robotics classes for children aged 8 to 12 in Melbourne.
This is a part‑time contractor role for someone who enjoys teaching children and can explain technical ideas in a straightforward, practical and engaging way.
Work Arrangement
Contractor role paid at AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
Part‑time schedule, 2 to 3 days per week.
Approximately 6 to 8 teaching hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on class demand.
In‑person classes in Melbourne, Victoria.
Responsibilities
Teach Arduino, coding, electronics, robotics and STEM activities to children aged 8 to 12.
Prepare straightforward project‑based lessons and classroom activities.
Create a secure, positive and age‑appropriate learning environment.
Keep students engaged through practical demonstrations and hands‑on projects.
Communicate student progress and classroom feedback when required.
Adjust lessons based on student age, ability and class performance.
Requirements
Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or coaching children.
Knowledge of Arduino, coding, robotics, electronics or STEM education.
Patient, energetic and clear communication style.
Reliable availability for 2 to 3 days per week.
Ability to work as a contractor.
Nice to Have
Experience teaching students aged 8 to 12.
Experience preparing project‑based technology lessons.
Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
Pay
AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
