Direct Care Support Worker - Volunteering Gold Coast
As a local NFP organisation, VGC exists to create social impact within and across the Gold Coast community.
We deliver services that help to create stronger and more resilient communities, supporting people with disability and older people.
We are looking for people who are committed to promoting and supporting the individual needs of clients and the ability to communicate effectively, maintain good working relationships with carers, families and advocates.
We apply a person-centered approach, ensuring that the delivery of services promotes the recipient's well-being by increasing feelings of independence, empowerment, and autonomy.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You will support a caseload of clients across the Gold Coast region, by delivering high-quality, person-centred care at a rate of $***** per hour.
This includes assisting with a range of daily living activities such as domestic duties (cleaning and meal preparation), grocery shopping, bill payments, and attending appointments,



as well as facilitating participation in community activities that align with each client's interests.
Using a personalised approach, you will tailor your support to meet the unique needs of each individual, promoting their independence, enhancing their wellbeing, and supporting them to live safely and confidently within their community.
Skills and Experience;
Mandatory:
Current unrestricted QLD drivers licence, clean driving record, and access to a registered and insured vehicle,
Current First Aid and CPR (training provided for new/out of date qualifications),
Blue and Yellow card,
Experience in a direct care role, personally and/or professionally,
A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of clients,
Robust interpersonal and communication skills,
Dependability and punctuality.
A qualification in a relevant area/field or lived experience,
An understanding of the Queensland Community Support Scheme.
