Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advanced Health Worker (Bundaberg & Hervey Bay)Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service is seeking passionate and culturally skilled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advanced Health Workers to join the Palliative Care Support Service team across Bundaberg and Hervey Bay Hospitals.This is a meaningful opportunity to provide holistic, culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families accessing specialist palliative care services, while contributing to the broader healthcare team in an essential and impactful role.You will be joining a supportive and inclusive team that values the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and recognises the importance of culturally protected care for patients, families and communities.About this roleTake a chance, progress your career and discover all that the Wide Bay has to offer.Your opportunityTo provide support and assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing specialist palliative care services across the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service through the provision of high quality, culturally appropriate services focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.Find out more in the Role Description.Qualifications neededMandatory: Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health orMandatory: Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health CareApplicants with a Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care who are willing to work towards the Certificate IV are strongly encouraged to apply.Must hold a Class C driver's licence.Must meet required Queensland Health vaccination and health screening requirements.Experience neededExperience assessing health needs and supporting culturally appropriate health care.Ability to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to engage with community-based services.Ability to make appropriate referrals and liaise with health professionals,
