Seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Mechanical Workshop team based at Slacks Creek, QLD.This role sits within our Financial Accounting & Reporting function and is pivotal to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance and providing essential financial information to support business decision-making.
This position offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to our organisation's financial health and growth.What you'll be doingDaily Cash flow forecasting updates to worksheet for distribution to managementMonthly and annual reporting – General Ledger reconciliations and Management Reporting as required for Consolidated Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and financial metrics are required.Monthly /quarterly reporting, IAS, BAS, payroll tax and superannuationWeekly Key Statistics reports including, but not limited to, Work In ProgressCo-ordination of annual budget and forecastsAnalyse, review and coordinate Insurance policy packages.Daily preparation and submission of invoicesContinual review and preparation of Progress Claims and Customer DepositsOversee Daily AP and AR activitiesMaintenance and reconciliation of the Fixed Assets RegisterMaintain and reconcile CHP/Lease Schedules for equipment and motor vehiclesOversight of Account Receivable - ensuring timely and accurate recordingMonthly accounts receivable performanceReporting results AP and AR to Banking Third Party – Collateral CertificatesDebtor Collection and ControlOversight of Accounts payable - ensuring that all invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner and monthly preparation of all Supplier Account Statements.Liaise with suppliers ensuring accounts are maintained for efficient parts supply and releaseReview completed job costings to identify appropriate profits or lossesQuarterly review of customer margins and appropriate pricing for continued company growth and competitive placement in the Heavy Diesel Servicing and Repair sectorRegular review of labour rates based on internal salary and oncostsPrepare all month end journals for accurate accrual reportingAnalyse and review Inventory regularly and coordinate annual stock takeAudit inventory pricing structure and Integration with Xero SoftwareEnsure any variances to the budgets are monitored and reportedEstablish and maintain all Debtors and Creditors application forms and relevant referencesCo-ordinate and prepare the payroll on a weekly basis, calculate and communicate employee entitlements.
Supervise and approve weekly payroll.Assist with Onboarding, Process and submission of apprentice enrolments, subsidies and rebatesProvide Monthly HR Leave transactions and Leave Balance reportsAssist with workers compensation and insurances renewal and claims.
Ensure safety measures are maintained and reviewedOversee accounts and administration staff and act as a mentor/advisorReview and administer Software programs, Xero, MechanicDeskProvide insights into efficiencies within the business and uphold continual improvement processes within all aspects of the business.Adhere to the company policies and proceduresEnsure documentation and company processes are adhered toEnsure all files are kept to company auditing standardsMaintain highest level of confidentiality with regards to sensitive matters/documentsSupport senior management and adhere to the management strategic directionsLiaise with external chartered accountant on necessary matters and end of year annual financial statement / company income tax return preparationDemonstrate the highest degree of professional integrity and responsibilityWhat we offerWe are committed to supporting our employees' growth and wellbeing.
