You will be joining a Queensland Government Department responsible for delivering critical infrastructure and transport services across the state. Operating within a high-performing team-oriented and project-focused workplace, you will play a key role in supporting financial outcomes across major programs of work.

As a Finance Advisor, you will support the project team by ensuring accurate reporting, financial management, and adherence to governance requirements. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will contribute to the delivery of key financial outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Preparing financial reports, correspondence, briefs, and advice to support informed decision-making
Developing and maintaining financial spreadsheets, registers, and reporting tools
Monitoring financial performance, identifying trends, and providing recommendations
Supporting the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting to achieve business outcomes
Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and practices




Building strong relationships with stakeholders across project and business teams

What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience in finance, accounts, or project accounting within a complex organisational environment
Solid skills in financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and data analysis
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial systems
Ability to interpret financial information, identify trends, and provide practical recommendations
Proven experience building effective relationships and partnering with stakeholders across multiple business areas
Solid written communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate reports, briefs, and correspondence
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
