Westridge Medical is seeking an experienced and compassionate Practice Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Toowoomba, QLD.
This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our general practitioners in providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community.
As Practice Nurse, you will be instrumental in enhancing patient outcomes, managing clinical workflows, and ensuring our practice operates efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of care.Key responsibilitiesProviding direct patient care including wound management, dressing changes, and minor injury treatmentAdministering vaccinations and immunisations according to national immunisation schedulesPerforming routine clinical procedures such as blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose testing, and other diagnostic assessmentsAssisting general practitioners during patient consultations and minor surgical proceduresTaking patient histories, vital signs and preparing patients for examinationManaging patient records and maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with best practice standardsEducating patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditionsCoordinating referrals and follow-up care with other healthcare services and specialistsMaintaining a clean, safe and infection-controlled clinical environmentSupporting the practice team in delivering efficient and organised patient servicesWhat we are looking forCurrent registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)



as a Registered NurseA recognised nursing qualification from an accredited tertiary institutionDemonstrated experience working in a general practice or primary healthcare settingStrong clinical knowledge and competency in performing routine nursing procedures and assessmentsExcellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues and healthcare providersA compassionate and patient-centred approach to healthcare deliveryStrong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing prioritiesKnowledge of infection control practices and workplace health and safety protocolsCurrent immunisation provider certification or willingness to obtain this qualificationProficiency with computer systems and medical practice management softwareExperience in chronic disease management, preventive health screening, and health promotion is highly valuedWhat we offerAt Westridge Medical, we believe in supporting our team to deliver their best work whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
