Our workforce is made up of people from different backgrounds, experiences, ages, and ability.About the RoleBowen Rail Company is growing our Network Team, and we are seeking a Track Machine Operator/ Maintainer (Electrical) to join our newly establish Resurfacing Team in Bowen.
In this role you will safely operate and provide support to maintain the mechanised maintenance fleet.
This role will require you to travel across the network and stay in camp accommodation.Promote and maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by adhering to guidelines, standards, codes and procedures, ensuring work groups and rail safety workers receive appropriate inductions and trainingOperate resurfacing machines — including tampers (such as 08-2X) and ballast regulators (such as the Kershaw ****) — safely and efficiently to meet daily production requirementsPerform routine, preventative and corrective maintenance, including inspections, servicing, adjustments, lubrication, troubleshooting and fault rectification on all assigned machinesRespond promptly to machine defects or breakdowns,



assisting with diagnosis and repairs to minimise downtimeCoordinate within the mechanised maintenance crew regarding machine movements, fuel, consumables, tools and general site logisticsCarry out pre-start and post-shift checks on all plant and equipment, completing required safety inspections to ensure machines are fit for serviceUndertake before and after track measurements and visual inspections, reporting any non-conformances or track quality concerns.

both written and verbalUnderstands the requirements of the position and proactively works to deliver performance aligned outcomes.Minimum 5 years' experience in an equivalent position experienced in Mobile Equipment Maintenance or Rollingstock maintenanceSARC - Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited) – or ability to obtainGeneral Construction Induction – or ability to obtainCurrent Open 'C' Class Driver's LicenseComputer proficient (Advanced Microsoft Office)Knowledge of maintenance and servicing in a rail environmentKnowledge of rail safety standards, rules, and proceduresAbility to read and interpret maintenance documents including manuals and drawingsAbility to commute across Bowen Rail Company site locationsQualified Rail Bound Plant Operator (Medium / Heavy)Organised with attention to detail and ability to prioritise deadlinesEffective time management and problem-solving skillsQualifications in a related rail discipline.
