About the roleReporting to the Financial Controller, this hands‐on role will support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and a broad range of day to day finance activities across the organisation (mostly accounts payable.) You will take ownership of the fortnightly payroll process while also supporting accounts payable, reconciliations, fixed asset and other month‐end activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess the fortnightly payroll, including PAYG, Single Touch Payroll and superannuation submissionsMaintain accurate payroll, employee and leave records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and employment obligationsRespond to employee payroll and leave enquiries, with support from the Financial Controller where required.Liaise with third‐party salary packaging providers and assist with employee commencements, departures, parental leave, and long service leave calculationsSupport month‐end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, and depreciation schedulesAssist with accounts payable, including invoice entry, purchase orders, invoice coding and payment runsMaintain the fixed asset register and support annual stocktakesManage staff reimbursements and credit card acquittalsSkills, Experience and QualitiesA sound understanding of payroll practices, employment legislation,



awards and contractual obligations.A willingness to do a dual role where you will have full responsibility of payroll but will provide support to finance (specifically accounts payable)Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.You are reasonably confident in using ExcelWell‐developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesStrong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisationThe ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative teamAbout the companyWork for a progressive and values driven educational organisation committed to creating safe, supportive and high performing school environments.
