GC HeartCare is seeking a skilled ECG Technician to join our cardiology practice in Southport, QLD.
This is a part-time/full-time position in a family friendly and highly collegiate team.
As an ECG Technician, you will play a vital role in both the clinical and imaging aspects of our practice, operating specialised equipment to assist our team in providing optimal health care to our patients.This position is essential to our commitment to patients to ensure they receive high-quality evidence based care.Key responsibilitiesPerform 12-lead electrocardiogram tests and assist in cardiac diagnostic testing in accordance with clinical protocols and patient safety standardsPrepare patients for ECG and Stress Testing/Echo, including explaining the process, positioning patients appropriately, and ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout the examinationAssist in peformance of Stress Testing/Stress EchoApply electrodes and sensor leads accurately to patients to obtain high-quality ECG tracings in both the clinical and diagnostic imaging settingMaintain accurate and detailed patient records, including ECG reports, test results and relevant clinical documentationCommunicate effectively with patients, clinical staff and consultant cardiologits to ensure seamless workflow and quality patient outcomesEnsure strict adherence to infection control protocols, health and safety regulations, and patient confidentiality requirementsOperate and maintain ECG and Holter Monitoring equipment , ensuring all devices are calibrated, functioning correctly and meet quality assurance standardsMaintain supplies required for ECG's, Holter Monitoring and Diagnostic ImagingMaintaining Defibrillator and associated emergency equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated, functioning correctly and meet quality assurance standardsAssist with the scheduling, organisation and coordination of cardiac diagnostic procedures as requiredWhat we're looking forA minimum qualification of HLTCAR001Perform electrocardiography (ECG))



from an accredited institution or recognised training programmeAt least oneyear of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill levelDemonstrable experience operating ECG equipment and performing electrocardiogram procedures in a clinical healthcare settingDemonstrable experience assisting in Stress Testing/Stress Echo.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality ECG tracings consistentlyProficient communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of varying backgrounds and health conditionsSound knowledge of infection control practices, health and safety standards, and patient privacy legislationAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare teamReliability, punctuality and professional conduct at all timesExperience in a busy cardiac imaging or diagnostic imaging environmentWhat we offerAt GC HeartCare, we are committed to creating a supportive and rewarding workplace for our Team.
