Ron Allum Deep Sea Services (RADS) is a 100% Australian company that designs, builds and tests specialist underwater systems proven to operate in the deepest, most remote points on the planet.
We are currently seeking a Production Technician to join our small production and engineering team.

About the Role
This is a hands-on production role which would suit someone with a wide skill set, previous electronic production experience or a trade qualification.
It is a full-time role that reports to the Production Supervisor.
The role involves:
Assembly and testing of specialised electronics products by following detailed drawings and according to specifications
Performing functional testing of assembled electronics, including testing prototypes and sub-assemblies
Supporting the general production team occasionally with other required tasks
Working closely with engineering on new designs and processes
Conducting quality control inspections against production checklists and instructions
Maintaining accurate records of production and testing activities
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical/electrical) to ensure seamless part and component integration
Maintaining a clean and protected work environment
Kitting electronic components to be sent out for PCB assembly externally.
Technical Skills
Proven experience in assembling, testing,
repairing and configuring low voltage electronic systems including PCBs and other electronic and electromechanical components.
Strong experience following detailed technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and work instructions
Experience testing, configuring and programming PCB assemblies.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics, including working with Engineering to provide design feedback
Strong experience with the safe use of electronic assembly tools and test equipment, including power supplies, multi-meters, 3D printers and other test equipment.
Proficiency in soldering (through-hole and surface mount) and familiarity with IPC standards.
Experience with strict ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety protocols.
Experience working with ERP systems
Electronic trade or qualifications preferred
A trade/Electronics Assembly background
Solid experience with the use of hand tools
Intermediate computer skills to operate test software and enter data / results
A strong aptitude for reading drawings and following work instructions
High attention to detail
Due to the nature of RADS Defence-related work, applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a Defence NV1 security clearance.

Tech savvy
Working knowledge of OH&S; protocols
Experience in working with the requirements of ISO**** or equivalent
Drivers licence class A
