Head of Government Relations (12-month max term contract)Queensland Treasury Corporation – Brisbane QLD2mo ago , from Queensland Treasury CorporationShape QTC's relationships at the highest levels of GovernmentAs Head of Government Relations, you will lead QTC's government engagement strategy, strengthening key relationships across the Queensland Government and enhancing QTC's reputation as a trusted and high-performing partner.Partnering closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, you'll provide strategic advice, ensure senior stakeholders have a clear understanding of QTC's role and impact, and anticipate emerging risks and opportunities- driving aligned, confident and effective advocacy and communication.Key responsibilitiesAct as a strategic advisor to the CEO, ELT and (as required) the Board on government engagementDevelop and lead QTC's government stakeholder strategy, aligned to long-term prioritiesBuild and maintain strong relationships with Ministers, advisers and senior bureaucratsMonitor and interpret policy, regulatory and political developments, providing clear adviceIdentify issues early and lead strategic response and advocacy approachesPrepare senior leaders for high-profile engagements (e.g. Estimates Hearings)Oversee government-facing communications, including briefings, correspondence and messagingSupport the management of sensitive or high-stakes issues, protecting QTC's reputationWork across QTC to ensure consistent, accurate and timely information is provided to GovernmentAbout youYou're a credible and influential government relations professional with strong judgement and a deep understanding of how government operates.You'll bring:Extensive experience in government relations,



policy or senior advisory rolesA well-established network across the Queensland GovernmentExperience working in the public sector, financial sector or similarly complex environmentsStrong ability to influence, engage and build trust at a senior levelExcellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear messagingA pragmatic, solutions‐focused mindset with a strong governance and risk lensThe ability to work collaboratively across senior stakeholders to drive outcomesQualificationsUniversity degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experienceBuild the future with QTC:QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State.
