We operate out of a state‐of the art facility in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, with an additional network of sales offices and warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Throughout its evolution, Stoddart has proudly continued to remain a 100% Australian-owned family business.
Product Designers are responsible for designing and producing drawings for new product and revising drawings for existing product.
Further capability is required in terms of undertaking designing and drafting as part of the broader R&D; process.
These tasks may be initiated by both internal and external sources, and as such the Product Designer must be capable of translating requests into workable solutions.
More specifically your duties will include the following:
Receive and action drafting requests via email
Create/modify approval drawings and forward to originator
Produce drawings (including BoM) for standard products
Update drawings (including BoM) for custom products
Manage and document revisions
Chase prices for current or non-standard processes and parts




Raise Job Travellers for new or non-standard processes (including R&D;) and Purchase Orders for parts
Create new Part IDs on ERP system as required
Check new or unusual part items on delivery
Monitor suitability of design and drafting during fabrication
Undertake design and drafting as part of the R&D; process
In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
Advanced level of technical skills in drafting software, specifically SolidWorks
Knowledge of the requirements of relevant legislation, regulations, CoP & standards
Skilled at assessing parts as suitable for fabrication
Ability to comprehend and adapt originator's requirements
Ability to read and comprehend documents of a technical nature
Ability to demonstrate enhanced verbal and written communication skills incorporating MS Office
The following criteria will be highly regarded:
Certificate III in Engineering (Sheetmetal Fabrication)
