Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is currently looking for an experienced part time Veterinary Nurse to join our Gold Coast Community Veterinary Clinic!
We have a permanent part-time opportunity available for 19 hours per week over 2 days.You'll be working with a team of highly skilled and passionate veterinary professionals under the banner of one of the most respected brands in animal welfare.

This is a high-volume, fast-paced clinic where you will gain excellent exposure across the entire veterinary practice.
You must be of a calm disposition with the ability to thrive under pressure.Key ResponsibilitiesConsult Support: Support veterinarians with routine examinations and consultationsOrganisation Pro:Prepare and implementsurgery schedulesClient Support: Provide veterinary nursing care and grief support to clientsNursing Support: Assist in radiography, surgical procedures, monitor patient anaesthesia, place IVs, and perform post-operative procedures.
In-house and external pathology procedures.
Prepare medications as requiredInpatient Care: Nurse hospitalised animals, monitor clinical signs, and communicate with ownersCommunity Advocate: Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and empathy for community animal health and welfare issuesWhat are the minimum requirements for this position?




Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or recognised equivalentMinimum of 3+ years' vet nursing experience working in a fast-paced clinicMust be able to independently monitor anaesthetics, place IVs, and perform general nursing dutiesExperience in a busy, fast-paced work environmentDesired previous experience in a shelter/rescue environmentExperience using Smartflow is highly advantageousTo be successful in this role, you will have:Strong Interpersonal and Communication SkillsAbility to manage your own time effectively and be respectful of the time of othersStrong attention to detail within deadlinesVersatility, flexibility, and positivityWho are we?
