Sanitarium is a progressive and dynamic business that is Australian owned and produces Australia's leading breakfast products – Up & Go, So Good, Alternative Dairy Co range and Australia's favourite breakfast Weet-Bix.
We're now hiring an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team and support the delivery of accurate, compliant and insightful financial information across the business.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, and supporting the effective operation of core finance processes.
This is a hands‐on role requiring strong technical accounting capability, attention to detail and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate monthly cashflow forecasts
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for forecasting processes
Manage the National Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) process, including coordination of annual external audits
Coordinate and respond to external audit requests across the business
Prepare annual financial statements
Manage the closing and capitalisation of CAPEX projects
Complete and review assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Manage banking compliance, including covenant reporting and audit requirements
Act as a subject matter expert on accounting standards and compliance requirements
Ensure compliance and reporting for lease accounting (AASB16)
Administer and oversee pricing updates within SAP
Review and approve supplier credit applications




Support finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decision‐making
About You
You are a detail‐oriented and proactive accountant who thrives in a collaborative environment.
You bring strong analytical capability, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards.
You will bring:
Proven experience in an accounting role within a complex business environment
Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance and financial reporting
Experience in cashflow forecasting, audit processes and financial statement preparation
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP desirable)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
High level of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
A continuous improvement mindset and strong sense of accountability
Accounting or business degree (majoring in accounting)
CPA / CA qualification (or working towards)
Experience with SAP or similar large ERP systems
