About the RoleThe Financial Assistant is responsible for assisting in overseeing the organisation's financial management, ensuring robust financial governance, legislative compliance, and the effective oversight of financial performance.Working closely with the Finance Manager, Director of Care, Board of Management and Office Manager.
The Financial Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the overall financial management including but not limited to assisting the Finance Manager to manage budgets, report monthly and quarterly financials to the Board of Management, liaising with the Financial Auditor.Available to work minimum 3 days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger managementAssist to prepare accurate monthly management reports, financial statements, and financial models for annual budgeting and cash flowAssist in overseeing financial management fundingAssist in monitor rental properties owned by the facility on adjoining propertiesAssist in ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, taxation requirements,



and relevant Aged Care Financial ReportingWhere requested and appropriate liaise with external accountants, insurance agencies, banks, and regulatory bodies including the ATO other external parties as requiredAssist in strengthening financial controls, governance frameworks, policies, and risk management practicesIdentify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and increase operational efficiencyAbout YouYou are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and a genuine commitment to working for a company improving outcomes for people living in an Aged Care Facility.Minimum 5 years' experience in a financial assistant roleDemonstrated experience within the NDIS, disability, aged care, health, or community services sector (desirable)Experience preparing budgets, board reportsAdvanced knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Current national police check (or wiling to obtain)Full working rights within Australia
