The Role We are excited to partner with Pacific Optics to find a hands-onPurchasing Officerto join our Merchandise and Marketing team in our Burleigh Heads office.
In this role, you will take ownershipofpurchasingand inventory management across designated product categoriesincluding fishing, workwear, batteries and lighting.You will also provide broader category management support, contributing to product selection, new productdevelopmentand go-to-market execution.
This is a commercially active role where your purchasing decisions have direct impact on category performance and business growth.
Key Responsibilities Raise,manageand track purchase orders across designated product categories, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and alignment with sales and inventory targets Conduct weekly stock-on-hand reviews,monitorlead times, track batchnumbersand manage expiry dates to ensure stock rotation compliance and oldest-stock-first dispatch Build andmaintainsupplier relationships, negotiating costs and managing performance to ensure reliable supply and strong commercial outcomes Support end-to-end category management — contributing to product selection, NPDbriefingsand go-to-market planning in partnership with the broader Merchandise team Manage inventory health across categories including COGS tracking, stock forecasting,
