About the role
The Consultant role at Laconic will be balanced across working 'on the business' completing activities to support Laconic's growth including analytical tasks such as market research; and working 'in the business' on engagements with our clients to assist them achieving their goals.
The Consultant role provides a pathway into more senior roles within Laconic based on performance.

Responsibilities
Undertake stakeholder engagement to support Laconic's growth and client initiatives
Assist with business development, bid writing and tender submissions for Laconic and Laconic's clients
Work with Laconic's clients on varied engagements to appropriate quality standards.
Engagements range from business improvement and strategy to corporate governance and project assignments across multiple settings and industries.
Prepare clear, compelling presentations to communicate insights and influence stakeholders, including draft reports, dashboards and summaries
Attend networking and business development activities including conferences from time to time, these may be outside normal business hours
Participate in quality assurance activities when required
Engage in continuous improvement activities and professional development
Use Excel, Power BI, or similar tools for data visualisation and reporting
Assist in maintaining shared knowledge repositories and templates
Work collaboratively with Laconic Directors, other team members and Clients as required
Assistance with other analytical tasks as required.
Skill and experience
A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law or other business-related qualification (postgrad qualifications such as CA or CPA highly regarded)
5+ years postgraduate experience
Experience in Management Consulting or similar professional services environment, including internal service delivery in a large enterprise is essential
Strong business and policy analysis capability,



including problem definition, options analysis, and evidence‐based recommendations
Experience preparing business cases, strategic reviews, cost models, and investment logic documents
Ability to collect and synthethise quantitative and qualitative data into clear and client-ready insights
Market research experience is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience working with senior executives, Boards, private and government stakeholders
Experience and proven ability in facilitating workshops and converting workshop outcomes into client facing materials
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tight timeframes.
Ability to work independently and work through ambiguity
Experience in developing proposals and tender responses
Ability to lead small teams, and take a leadership role in client engagements
Use of Microsoft365 tools (specifically Excel) is highly desirable
Training in business analysis, Lean Six Sigma, project management, change management, strategy or other disciplines is highly desirable
Proven ability to innovate and identify opportunities to improve
Be willing to travel intra and interstate from time to time
