Build a procurement function from the ground up
Multi-site manufacturing business
An established, privately owned Australian manufacturing business with operations across Current South Wales and Queensland is seeking an experienced procurement leader to establish and lead its group procurement function.
Supplying products to the residential construction sector, the business has built a strong reputation over several decades and is entering its next phase of growth and operational maturity.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape procurement strategy, influence executive decision-making and deliver meaningful commercial outcomes across two operating businesses.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group CFO and partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team, you will design, implement and lead a best-practice procurement function across the group.
This is a genuine build role, where you'll establish the systems, processes and commercial frameworks that will support long-term growth and profitability.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing a group-wide procurement strategy.
Consolidating supplier relationships and leveraging group purchasing power.
Leading domestic and international sourcing, supplier negotiations and contract management.
Building procurement governance, reporting and performance frameworks.
Managing imports, supplier quality,
certification and supply chain risk.
Partnering with Operations to improve planning, delivery performance and cost outcomes.
Leading and developing the procurement team while embedding best-practice procurement disciplines.
About You
You are an experienced procurement leader who has successfully built or transformed procurement functions within a manufacturing, industrial or construction-related workplace.
You will bring:
Senior procurement leadership experience within manufacturing or heavy industry.
Strong international sourcing and supplier management experience.
Excellent commercial acumen with advanced cost modelling and analytical capability.
A proven track record delivering measurable procurement savings and supplier improvements.
A solid understanding of inventory, freight, supply chain and working capital drivers.
The ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organisational change.
