5 Axis CNC Machinist Responsibilities
You will be responsible for producing complex precision-engineered components while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Your duties will include:
Programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
Producing complex aerospace and precision-engineered components
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings




Selecting tooling and machine offsets
First-off inspection and in-process quality checksUsing precision measuring equipment
Maintaining micron-level tolerances
Working within ISO-accredited quality systems
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Meeting production schedules without compromising quality
5 Axis CNC Machinist Skills & Experience
Applicantsmust have commercial experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres.
We are particularly interested in candidates currently working within:
Aerospace Manufacturing

Defence Manufacturing
High-Tech Manufacturing
Automotive OEM Manufacturing

Motorsport Engineering
You should also possess:
Strong CNC programming and setup experience
Multi-axis machining expertise
Excellent understanding of engineering drawings
GD&T; interpretation
Precision inspection experience
Strong quality focus
Excellent problem-solving ability
Ability to work independently and within a team

A recognised engineering or CNC machining qualification
Significant post-qualification CNC machining experience
Commercial experience operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
Relevant aerospace, aviation, high-tech or automotive manufacturing experience
The ability to satisfy Australian Trade Assessment requirements where applicable
English language proficiency meeting Australian Government standards
The ability to meet Australian health and character requirements
