Administration Officer - Primary Health Care Trainee

About the Role

An Administration Officer – Primary Health Care Trainee is a patient’s first point of contact at one of our medical clinics. This entry‑point role has potential for further growth and development. The role will be supervised by experienced health specialists. Please note you should NOT hold a Certificate III to be eligible for this position. Overall, you will be required to ensure patient flow is conducted with minimal interruptions by effectively using time management skills, informative communication skills while observing the overall demeanour of patients in waiting.

Duties
First point of contact: meet and greet clients.
Attend to all phone calls and messages in accordance with the ATSICHS triage process.
Book appointments using the MMex system.
Maintain specialist calendars.
Ensure all correspondence related to GP referrals is scanned and filed in the appropriate patient chart.
Ensure that confidentiality is observed at all times when dealing with patient information.

Salary of $45,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation and salary sacrifice.

Obtain a Certificate III in Business Administration upon completion.
Fixed‑term full‑time position for up to 12 months.
Contribute to the bettering of Indigenous health.

COVID‑19 Requirement
Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid‑19 vaccine is encouraged.

Desired Skills and Experience

Required
Willingness and ability to undertake at a minimum a Certificate III Business Administration.
The ability to work independently, under guidance or direction and within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Previous experience in working with culturally diverse people.
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Suite Applications.
Current and valid National Police Check.
