Are you a qualified tradesperson looking for a genuine pathway offshore? TMT is launching a structured 12-month Trainee Program designed to take skilled technicians and develop them into ROV Pilot Technicians, one of the most in‑demand and rewarding careers in subsea operations.

We're currently recruiting for Hydraulics and Electronics trade backgrounds.

This isn't a "sink or swim" offshore gamble. It's a supported, staged program built around real assessment, real mentoring, and real milestones, so you know exactly where you stand at every point.

What you'll be doing

In your first six months, you'll be based in our Bibra Lake workshop, building the foundation every ROV technician needs: tooling assembly, maintenance, servicing, fault‑finding, and getting fluent in TMT's systems, standards, and safety culture. From there, subject to a formal review, you'll move into ROV‑focused development, hands‑on with ROV systems, mobilisation and demobilisation, and (where prospects allow) piloting exposure and Pilot Technician competency.

What we're looking for

A nationally recognised trade or technical qualification in hydraulics or electronics





At least 3 years' relevant industrial experience within the last 4 years

A genuine team player, someone who communicates well, stays calm under pressure, and isn't afraid to ask questions

Sharp attention to detail and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving

Willingness to work toward offshore medical and survival certification requirements

This is a 12-month maximum‑term contract. Progression to offshore ROV work depends on your performance, your fit, and business requirements at the time; we’ll be upfront with you about where you stand at the 6‑month and 12‑month review points, not just at the end.
