Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer B1.3
Sydney Helicopters is significantly expanding its rotorcraft maintenance capabilities and is actively seeking additional experienced and Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers B1.3 to join our maintenance team.
These full-time, on-site positions are responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Bell 412and AS350 helicopters to ensure continued airworthiness, safety, and reliability.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a small, skilled team to support both hangar and line maintenance activities while upholding strict regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including inspections, repairs, component replacements, and functional testing on Bell 412 and AS350 aircraft.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems.
Conduct aircraft system checks and test procedures to verify serviceability.
Certify aircraft for return to service and maintain accurate, compliant maintenance records and documentation.
Interpret and apply technical manuals, maintenance data, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate effectively with operations, pilots, and other team members to minimise aircraft downtime.
Adhere to all aviation safety standards, Safety Management System (SMS) principles, and quality assurance processes.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a strong safety culture.
Support after-hours and weekend work as required to meet operational demands.
Licences & Certifications




Current Australian CASA B1.3 and/or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence (or equivalent).
Bell 412 type rating highly desirable.
Experience & Skills
Significant experience in aircraft maintenance, with strong preference for rotary-wing experience.
Proven competence on Bell 412 aircraft is highly preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and functional testing of mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems.
Solid understanding of airworthiness regulations, compliance documentation, and CASA requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical publications, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexible approach to working hours to support operational requirements.

Remuneration
Competitive salary:$100,000 – $150,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience, qualifications, and licences.
