Registered Nurse – Scrub Scout
We are seekingtwo experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses – Scrub Scoutto join our dynamic perioperative team on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for motivated professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and achieving the highest standards of clinical excellence.
As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
Provide skilled Scrub Scout nursing support for a broad range of surgical procedures.
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the surgical team by accurately selecting and handling instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Assist in the safe and efficient coordination of operating theatre activities before, during, and after procedures.
Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation activities within the perioperative department.
Support the orientation, education,
and mentoring of new staff and students where appropriate.
Maintain professional knowledge and clinical competency through ongoing education and professional development.
Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture while upholding organisational values and standards of care.
Selection Criteria:
Current registration with theNursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Scrub Scout Nurse.
Demonstrated knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a rapid-paced perioperative environment.
Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.
Sound understanding of infection prevention and control principles.
Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including on-call requirements if applicable.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement activities.
Postgraduate qualifications in Perioperative Nursing or working towards completion.
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
Other Requirements:
National Police Check
Working with Children Check
Proof of immunisation against specified Infectious Diseases, including COVID-19
