Overview

As a STEM Experience Officer, you will deliver engaging, hands‑on science experiences that inspire curiosity and learning for visitors at SparkLab, Queensland Museum's interactive science centre. You will facilitate STEM exhibits, live demonstrations and investigations for diverse audiences including families, school groups and adults.

Key Responsibilities
Support the day‑to‑day operation of SparkLab, ensuring a secure, welcoming and high‑quality visitor experience.
Deliver cutting-edge science engagement activities, support special events and holiday programs, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Facilitate curriculum‑linked programs and school visits, promoting inquiry‑based learning opportunities.
Adapt content and engagement approaches to suit a wide range of ages, learning styles and abilities.
Collaborate with colleagues across Queensland Museum, maintaining high standards for exhibits, activities and learning spaces.




Handle operational requirements including exhibit maintenance, equipment preparation, stock management, safety procedures, visitor flow management and collection of visitor feedback.

Qualifications & Skills
Excellent communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
Experience in education, science communication, museum engagement or a related field.
Passion for STEM education and ability to foster meaningful connections between visitors and science.
Ability to make scientific concepts accessible, relevant and engaging.
