A NSW Government agency is undergoing a business transformation program, including technology implementation and business improvement initiatives.
They need an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to provide the data and reporting backbone for this transformation - turning complex data sets into the insights that drive strategic and operational decisions.
The environment This is a genuine BI function inside a transformation program, not a steady-state reporting role.
You'll be working across legacy technological systems, so data quality and governance are live problems, not assumptions.
You'll work closely with Associate Directors, feeding market and performance data directly into strategic planning.
What you'll be doing
You'll own the full data lifecycle for reporting - analysing complex data sets to identify trends and patterns, modelling, cleansing and organising data for analytics use, and building dashboards,



visualisations and reports that make findings transparent to non-technical stakeholders.
You'll implement data quality checks and governance practices, track and report on the impact of data-driven initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve data processes and tooling.
You'll also provide training and support to end users, building data literacy across the organisation.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience building dashboards, reports and data visualisations in a BI tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Strong SQL and data modelling / data cleansing skills
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data findings into explicit, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Experience implementing or upholding data quality and governance standards
Comfortable working with legacy systems and managing competing stakeholder priorities
Government or similarly regulated environment experience preferred
