A.B. Paterson College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary School Science Teacher to join our thriving College community.
This is a full-time fixed-term position commencing in Term 3, **** and concluding at the end of Term 4, ****.
We are seeking a passionate teacher with the ability to teach Science and a specialisation in at least one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Psychology.
The successful candidate will be committed to delivering engaging and challenging learning experiences that foster curiosity, critical thinking and academic excellence.
Working within a collaborative and supportive faculty, you will inspire students across a range of year levels, contribute to the broader life of the College, and encourage learners to achieve their full potential in a dynamic and well-resourced learning setting.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Secondary Science lessons in accordance with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabuses.
Teach Science across a range of year levels, with the ability to teach one or more of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Psychology.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, curiosity, and student wellbeing.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning growth.
Contribute to the College's pastoral care, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs.




Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching practices and maintain high standards of curriculum delivery.
Maintain accurate records and uphold professional responsibilities in line with College policies and Queensland teaching standards.

We're Looking For:
Qualifications and experience to teach Secondary Science, with the ability to teach at least one ofChemistry, Physics, Biology, or Psychology
Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) Registration
Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA senior syllabuses
A commitment to academic excellence and positive student outcomes
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the College
Confidence in integrating technology and digital learning tools into the classroom
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
