An exciting opportunity is available fortwo experienced Medical Receptioniststo join a busy and supportive primary healthcare service in Ipswich.
We are seeking friendly, organised and professional individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and supporting positive patient experiences.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for providing high-quality reception and administrative support in a quick-paced healthcare environment.
You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic while delivering exceptional service to clients and supporting the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, respectful and caring manner.
Manage a busy reception area, including answering and directing phone calls.
Schedule appointments and coordinate patient bookings, recalls and follow-up appointments.
Register new patients and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
Verify Medicare and billing information, including MyMedicare and relevant eligibility requirements.
Monitor patient flow and communicate effectively with clinicians regarding appointments and waiting times.
Process incoming correspondence, scan and file documentation, and maintain confidential records.
Provide general administrative support to the healthcare team.
Maintain a clean, welcoming and confidential reception environment.
Contribute to quality improvement activities and comply with organisational policies and procedures.
About You
The successful applicants will demonstrate:
Previous experience in a receptionist or administration role,



preferably within a medical or healthcare setting.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when managing patient records and appointments.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and electronic patient management systems.
The ability to remain calm, skilled and compassionate in a busy clinical environment.
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
A willingness to learn new systems and adapt to changing priorities.
Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service.
Strong administrative, computer and data entry skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
Evidence of required immunisations and serology upon appointment.
Experience working in a medical practice or healthcare environment.
Knowledge of Medicare, MBS, PRODA, MyMedicare and medical billing processes.
Understanding of the Australian healthcare system.
Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to providing culturally safe and inclusive services.
