Role Overview

We are seeking a Corporate Tax Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our Band1 corporate team in Sydney. This role involves working closely with Partners JamesPettigrew and JayPrasad, as well as Tax Partners and Associates across our national Tax practice.

Responsibilities
Advising clients on the tax implications of transactions and investments across corporate, funds, energy, resources and property sectors, as well as within the HSFKramer groups.
Negotiating with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) when required.
Providing advice on corporate reorganisations, trusts, initial and secondary public offerings, spin‑offs, joint ventures, employee share schemes, executive remuneration, and partnerships.
Collaborating with tax colleagues in Australia and internationally across the Corporate, Finance and Disputes practice groups.
Focusing on corporate‑related tax work while participating in a broad tax offering; the role does not encompass tax compliance work.

Qualifications
4+ years’ experience across a range of corporate tax matters (international tax, M&A; or corporate tax) in a leading private practice firm, top‑tier accounting firm or large corporate.
An unrestricted Australian or NewZealand practising certificate.




An excellent academic record, ideally including a Masters in Taxation or a commenced Masters in Taxation.
Ability to deliver high‑quality work within tight timeframes, working closely with colleagues and maintaining robust attention to detail.
A team‑focused approach and enjoyment of supervising and mentoring junior solicitors.
A commitment to client service and the desire to build robust relationships that support practice growth.
An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
Academic transcripts (LLB, JD, LLM and any in‑progress Masters transcripts) are required.
