Popeys Diesel Service is a locally owned and operated business with over 15 years of experience specialising in the service, repair, and rebuild of underground and surface mining equipment.
Our workshop provides a wide range of services, including diesel fitting repairs, auto electrical, boilermaking, line boring, machining, hydraulic services, and component rebuilds.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Diesel Fitter to join our team.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a skilled and supportive team working on specialised underground and surface mining equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality repairs, servicing, maintenance, and rebuild work while ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Perform servicing, repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds on underground and surface mining equipment
Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard
Carry out mechanical repairs and component rebuilds
Complete tasks efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship
Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals where required
Maintain accurate job records and documentation




Work collaboratively with other trades and workshop personnel
Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant trade qualification and experience in diesel fitting/mechanical repairs
Experience working on heavy equipment, mining equipment, or similar machinery
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A strong focus on safety and quality workmanship
A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment
