WSP’s Geotechnics & Tunnels team plays a critical role in some of Australia’s most complex and high‑profile infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to plan and deliver investigations, interpret data, prepare reports and support design and proposal work across projects from early investigations to construction.
Responsibilities
Planning and delivering geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, fieldwork, sampling, logging and in‑situ testing
Interpreting geotechnical data and contributing to design recommendations and risk assessments
Preparing technical reports and supporting design documentation for small to medium projects
Working closely with senior engineers and project managers on investigation scoping, methodologies and project delivery
Supporting proposals and tenders, including technical inputs and cost estimates
Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients on technical queries and project updates
Providing guidance to technicians and junior team members in both field and office environments
Qualifications
A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering (or equivalent)
2+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering or a related discipline
Robust field experience, including soil logging, sampling and site investigations
Exposure to investigation techniques such as CPTs, boreholes, test pits and in‑situ testing
Well‑developed analytical skills and the ability to interpret geotechnical data
Transparent written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to technical reports
A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
Eligibility for (or progress toward) Engineers Australia membership
