TriCare is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Head Office Finance Team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse group of entities while taking ownership of financial reporting, taxation compliance, reconciliations, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring the timely preparation of management, statutory and taxation reporting across the TriCare Group.
You will play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager by providing high-quality financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and contributing to ongoing system and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with monthly management accounts, including P&L; and Balance Sheet reporting.
Prepare annual financial statements and compliance reporting.
Manage taxation obligations, including the preparation and timely lodgement of tax returns.
Liaise with external auditors and tax agents.
Prepare daily cashflow reporting and statutory returns.
Maintain accurate accounting records, working papers, and supporting schedules.
Review and improve finance systems, procedures, and internal controls.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
Skills, experience, and attributes necessary for this role include:
CA or CPA qualified with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
5 years of tax experience – Mandatory
8 years of tax experience – Preferred
Demonstrated ability to work independently, within a team environment and organize/prioritize work in and around other people's deadlines and workloads.
Oral and written skills of a high standard.
Advanced accounting skills and knowledge of complex accounting entity structures.
Problem solving and analytical ability and Ability to liaise with all levels of the organization.
High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work is essential.
