About the roleand about youWe are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Business Partner to join our Safety Operations team and play a critical role in strengthening our safety culture, supporting our people, and ensuring the highest standards of workplace health and safety across the organisation.Reporting to the Director, Safety Operations, you will lead the implementation, oversight, and continuous improvement of SGCH's Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System across a diverse, multi-site operational environment.
You'll partner closely with leaders, employees, contractors, and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensure legislative compliance, and embed a proactive approach to safety
To succeed in this role, you willbe a strategic thinking safety professional with hands-on operational experience and passion to make meaningful impact across our organisation.
This is a permanent role, with hybrid work arrangements available and requires travel across all SGCH office locationsasrequired.
DutiesLead the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of SGCH's WHS Management System
Partner with leaders to identify, assess and control risks across workplaces, residential properties and contractor activities.




Develop and strengthen contractor safety assurance frameworks, audits and performance monitoring processes.
Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities across multiple locations.
Analyse safety performance data and use insights to drive continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture.
Design and deliver engaging WHS training, communication and capability-building initiatives.
Chair the Health and Safety Committee and contribute to strong safety governance and reporting.
Manage end-to-end incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Provide expert WHS advice that supports informed decision-making and legislative compliance.
Appointment is subject to standard pre-employment checks, such as working rights, employment references from previous managers, a National Police Check, and a health assessment.
Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or equivalent experience, with strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience in a WHS role within a complex, multi-site or operational environment, with exposure to diverse risk settings (e.g. property, field-based or contractor-heavy environments).
Robust experience in contractor safety management, including onboarding, compliance oversight, performance monitoring, and integration into operational safety systems.
Highly developed stakeholder engagement, analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, interpret WHS data, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proven capability in incident investigation, risk assessment, and WHS systems management, including the application of structured methodologies and continuous improvement approaches.
