Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery (CMINS) is a growing multidisciplinary specialist practice located on the south side of Brisbane.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Secretary to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a agile healthcare environment supporting neurosurgeons, neurologists, physiotherapists, and visiting allied health and specialist providers who utilise our sessional consulting rooms.
The standard roster for this position is Monday to Friday working preferably 4 days per week, however due to expansion a Monday to Saturday roster may be required in ****.
About the Role
This role is varied, fast paced, and patient-focused, requiring a high level of professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting and greeting patients with a high level of customer service
Managing phone enquiries and patient communication professionally and compassionately
Providing reception, administration, and secretarial support to specialists and allied health providers
Preparing and running specialist clinics, including billing, receipting, and appointment coordination
Coordinating theatre bookings and preparing patient information packs
Typing and processing medical correspondence
Assisting with the coordination and support of neurologists, physiotherapists, and other sessional providers consulting from our rooms
Supporting visiting providers and assisting with patient flow during sessional clinics
Providing support across outlying clinics as required for leave coverage
Occasional travel to Ipswich to assist with running specialist clinics may be required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Medical Secretary or within specialist medical administration - Not GP or radiology practices.
Previous experience using Genie software
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team
Strong organisational and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
A compassionate and professional approach to patient care
A strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements
Flexibility and adaptability within a growing multidisciplinary practice
