About the Client
Working with a Queensland Government Department who promotes agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries for Queensland.
They work to mitigate the risks and impacts of animal and plant pests and diseases and weeds to the economy, the environment, social amenity and human health.
Queensland deals with more biosecurity incursions than any other state or territory in Australia.
What you will be doing
Working within Biosecurity Queensland, you will be part of the Invasive Plant & Animal Team, supporting the National Electric Ant Eradication Program.
In this role, you will work closely with operational teams to assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of field and canine activities aimed at protecting Queensland's environment and agricultural industries.
You will be responsible for creating and analysing GIS data, supporting operational planning, maintaining key stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the successful delivery of program objectives.

What you will need
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in a fast-paced operational or administrative environment, with strong communication, organisational and data management skills.
Experience with GIS systems and stakeholder engagement will be highly regarded.
Your role will include:
Assisting with the creation of jobs and supporting materials for field and canine operational activities.
Creating, maintaining and analysing GIS data to support field operations and decision-making.
Supporting the operations team to achieve efficient and effective delivery of program objectives.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders, including landholders, industry groups,
government agencies and Traditional Owners.
Communicating key program information to support operational activities and stakeholder engagement.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
Undertaking risk-based decision making and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Contributing positively to team objectives and supporting new or less experienced team members when required.
What you will need:
Experience working in an operational, administrative or project support environment.
Previous AO3 experience
Knowledge of GIS systems and data analysis, or the ability to quickly learn.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
The ability to follow procedures and work within established operational frameworks.
Experience within government, environmental, biosecurity or field operations environments will be highly regarded.
