The Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) is seeking an experienced and collaborative Education Manager to lead the delivery and continuous improvement of our Programs leading to Membership and Fellowship in General Dental Practice (GDP) and Specialist Dental Practice (SDP).
This is an exciting opportunity for an education manager who enjoys working at both a strategic and operational level.
Reporting to the Director of Education, you will lead a high-performing administrative team and work closely with Boards of Studies, Committees, Registrars, Examiners, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality education and assessment that support the future of the dental profession.
About the Role
As Education Manager (Dental), you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of RACDS GDP & SDP Programs and examinations.
You will provide leadership across program management, policy development, stakeholder engagement, governance support, and digital transformation initiatives.
This role combines people leadership with strategic program oversight, ensuring educational activities are delivered to a high-standard, and with a strong focus on member and candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a Dental Team of x3 Education Officers and x1 Education Admin Officer.
Manage team priorities and workloads to ensure key milestones and deliverables are achieved.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Program & Examination Management
Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of General and Specialist Dental Practice Membership and Fellowship Programs.
Ensure examination processes, resources, and examiner engagement are effective, sustainable, and compliant.
Contribute to curriculum development, training program design, and assessment frameworks.
Governance & Policy
Develop, implement, and review education, examination, and program policies and procedures.
Provide expert advice to the Director of Education on policy, program management, and stakeholder requirements.
Support Boards of Studies and Committees through governance advice, risk management, reporting, and budget oversight.
Prepare high-quality reports, recommendations, and submissions for senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and service delivery.
Champion the digitalisation and integration of systems supporting education programs and assessments.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, candidate experience, and operational effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand RACDS Dental Programs and member value.
About You
You are a confident manager with strong education program management and stakeholder engagement experience.
You thrive in complex environments, enjoy influencing outcomes, and are passionate about delivering high-quality education and assessment programs.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Education, Business, Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 3 years' experience in education, training, program management, or a similar management role.
Experience within a medical college, university, professional association, or regulated education workplace (highly regarded).
Demonstrated experience managing and developing staff.
Strong policy development, analysis, and research capability.
Experience interpreting complex regulations and policy.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong project and program management expertise.
Experience supporting governance committees and delivering high-quality reports and recommendations.
Knowledge of the Australian dental profession (desirable).
