Samos Polymers is an Australian owned and operated company that is growing. We have two large, contemporary manufacturing facilities located in the St Marys area, where we produce all forms of raw polyurethane elastomers and foams.
The role requires Chemical Plant Operators to follow formulations which are set into a recipe card (batch card). General maintenance and cleaning is also required to be carried out around the manufacturing facility.
You will be working Fulltime, Monday to Friday. The first shift team commences at 5.00am, with another shift commencing at 11.00am.
Overtime in order to finish batches is regularly available.
You must have sufficient knowledge of mathematics in order to correctly measure ingredients as you make batches to set recipe cards.
You will be responsible for all aspects of batch manufacturing including
Batch preparation including preparing ingredients and raw materials
Measuring ingredients and filling Mixer with product
Filling, capping and packing product into various size drums and onto pallets
Updating batch records and documentation
Quality Control duties including collecting samples, labelling and sending for product testing
Monitoring timing, pressure and temperature levels and adjusting when necessary
Manual loading/unloading of machinery
Forklift Driving to move pallets into storage once batches completed (desirable) or willing to get a licence.
You must be able to work overtime when required. You must also be physically fit in order to set and monitor machinery, and perform preventative maintenance such as changing filters, adjusting lines in between batches, cleaning the equipment at the end of shift, and some manual handling (typically 16 - 23kg).
